The Opportunity
Tullow is offering an exciting opportunity within the Fields Development team. We are looking for a dynamic Well Planning Manager & Team Lead to join us on a Permanent (hybrid) basis, located at our office in Chiswick, London.
Job Purpose
Develop and coordinate subsurface workstreams for the planning and delivery of Jubilee infill drilling activities. Provide technical leadership and prioritisation for Geoscience / Reservoir Engineering work streams supporting the development and optimisation of the Jubilee Field including line management of technical staff.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide coordination and delivery for infill well planning from target identification through to well execution support, including well proposals and subsurface justifications.
- Set priorities and provide stewardship for geoscience/reservoir engineering work scopes supporting Jubilee Field development activities.
- Provide line management, functional coordination, coaching, and technical oversight for Geoscientists / Reservoir Engineers in the Field Developments team.
- Ensure technical work programmes adequately address key subsurface uncertainties and risks relevant to Field Development planning and execution.
- Contribute by providing expertise to Ghana BU projects including field optimisation studies, development concept maturation, reservoir modelling and production enhancement initiatives.
- Support long-term field development planning, reserves maturation, and business planning processes through robust subsurface interpretation and uncertainty management.
- Represent the Operator’s position in Joint Venture discussions and positively influence technical outcomes with partners and regulatory stakeholders.
Experience & Education
- Degree in Geology, Geophysics or Reservoir Engineering.
- Masters level or greater preferred.
Skills
- Strong integrated technical skillset in Geoscience or Reservoir Engineering with proven track record of providing thorough technical delivery for an operator.
- Experience in reservoir modelling and subsurface uncertainty management.
- Experience supporting infill drilling campaigns and well planning workflows.
- Good working knowledge of reservoir modelling software and interpretation tools.
- Strong understanding of field development planning and subsurface optimisation workflows.
- Cross disciplinary understanding to allow for integration of Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, Petrophysics and Well Engineering workflows.
- Ability to develop workplans and direct a team to achieve agreed deliverables in the required timeframe.
