Our client, based in Westhill, is looking for an experienced DNO Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a permanent staff basis. This role involves working across Scotland on high-voltage substation projects and maintenance activities. The DNO (Distribution Network Operator) Mechanical Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of high-voltage (HV) substation plant and equipment. The role requires working outdoors on live distribution networks to help ensure the safe and reliable supply of electricity to homes and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance, strip-down, overhaul, and repair of HV substation equipment including:
- Transformers
- Switchgear
- Circuit breakers
- Ancillary plant and apparatus
- Perform mechanical fault finding, diagnostics, and condition monitoring activities.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial equipment.
- Work in full compliance with:
- ESQCR regulations
- DNO safety rules
- Company health
