Our client based in Portlethen is looking for a Junior Welder to join their team on a staff basis. This role involves a shift pattern of 2 weeks dayshift and 2 weeks backshift.
The Junior Welder will work alongside experienced welders, performing welding and re-dressing of fishing and remedial tools, as well as related equipment. Service quality, job preparation, planning, and safety are key priorities.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Participate in tool-box meetings with all members of the welding team.
- Ensure full compliance with QHSE policies and standards, wearing required PPE at all times.
- Maintain all equipment in good, safe working order and report issues to the welding supervisor.
- Manage the supply of oxygen, propane, and acetylene bottles.
Desired Qualities/Qualifications
- Completed a recognized welding/fabrication apprenticeship.
- At least 2 years of experience.
- Ability to work independently and read technical drawings.
- Certified in SMAW, GMAW, OFW, and GTAW welding processes (Desirable).
- Inspect parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Use logical problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills with supervisors and peers.
