We are recruiting a Chief Mechanic for work in Saudi Arabia.

The Chief Mechanic reports directly to the Preventive Maintenance Manager and is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, ordering parts, and managing administration work of the PMS system.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Experience with rig drilling equipment such as Draw works, Top Drive System, Rotary Tables, Transmission, Crown block, Traveling block, Pneumatic and hydraulic winches, BOP hoists, Iron Roughneck, CAT heads, Mud pumps, High pressure units, Mast, Engines, Air compressors, Solid Control Equipment, and Air breathing systems.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all mechanical rig equipment according to ADC MSP standards.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document reports in SAP, and analyze failure causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Hands-on experience with drilling equipment maintenance, repairs, testing, and commissioning.
  • Supervise daily and weekly checks on mechanical equipment.
  • Manage inventory and ensure availability of spare parts and tools.
  • Maintain records of tools and equipment, ensuring safety and calibration.
  • Order spare parts and manage budgets for scheduled maintenance.
  • Follow safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Lead and motivate the maintenance team, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with PTW and safety procedures.
  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of mechanical equipment.
  • Read pneumatic and hydraulic schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Plan work sequences and supervise team activities.
  • Manage personnel issues and training for maintenance staff.
  • Report incidents and support emergency response procedures.
  • Assist in commissioning new facilities as needed.

  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures for controlled and consistent work.
  • Contribute to cost efficiency and resource management.

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or Industrial Mechanics certificate, with at least 3 years of drilling field experience as a Chief Mechanic.
  • Ability to read pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision, setting a safe and professional example.
