Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically minded Energy Analyst to join their growing team in Basingstoke. Previous experience from within the Energy sector is highly desirable. Working within a close-knit team and reporting to the Bureau Manager, you will take ownership of data collection, validation, and reporting across a small portfolio of client accounts. Your work will directly support the accurate and timely delivery of our energy reporting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and validate energy usage data from clients, suppliers, and third-party data sources
  • Analyse and report on energy performance data for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and build relationships with assigned clients, ensuring clear communication and service excellence
  • Validate utility invoices and reconcile billing data with consumption records
  • Identify errors, anomalies, or inefficiencies in data and proactively work to resolve them
  • Produce accurate, timely, and high-quality reports and performance dashboards
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests, ensuring data integrity
  • Participate in internal quality assurance (QA) processes, reviewing and validating peer work

About You

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills essential
  • Comfortable handling large datasets and performing complex data analysis
  • Familiar with Power BI or willing to develop skills in data visualisation tools
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills; able to liaise effectively with clients and suppliers
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates initiative and accountability in managing workloads

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a data or analyst role
  • Exposure to utility billing, energy reporting, or invoice validation
  • Experience using data analysis platforms or business intelligence tools
