Our Basingstoke based client is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Administrator to join their team on a temp to perm basis. The successful candidate must have experience supporting mortgage applications from submission through to completion. Skilled in managing application pipelines, handling inbound and outbound broker calls, chasing documentation and supporting underwriters to ensure cases progress efficiently and accurately. You will be known for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining strong regulatory compliance and working collaboratively with brokers, solicitors and internal teams to meet service levels and completion targets while ensuring customers are treated fairly. Permanent applications may be considered for this role.
Key responsibilities:
- Process mortgage applications
- Be the first point of contact on the telephone for the Intermediary panel, providing quick and clear responses.
- Make outbound calls following up on documentation, second charge consent, valuations and escalate any cases where you feel timescales are not being met to the Underwriter responsible for the case, Senior Underwriter or Underwriting Manager
- Provide technical assistance to the Intermediary panel in respect of the Broker Portal & Global Iris, payment collection services
- Ensure you challenge yourself and the underwriters you are supporting, to ensure the company only ask for the correct documentation and information required to make a lending decision and no more. To ensure the accuracy of all notes, requirements and conditions added to an application
- Manage a pipeline of mortgage applications from receipt through to completion, ensuring telephone calls are made to chase up or obtain clarification of information
- Work with the underwriting team and completions team, to ensure prompt issue of documentation, valuation instruction and offer production
- Work as part of the Lending team, to achieve the required completion target, assisting the completions team where required with quick and concise answers to questions and points of clarification they may raise
- Assisting with the production and preparation of monthly reporting
Skills and experience:
- Experience of manually writing mortgage applications, rather than decision backed systems
- Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
- Experience of working within a busy team environment
- Experience in managing own workload and bring flexible where required in the approach to day-to-day activities.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Working in in line with the agreed Lending Manual & Processing Manual and process documents
- Build relationships with the external Sales Business Development Team
