The Role
We are looking for a reliable Fitter to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently while minimising downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns.
- Install, service and improve manufacturing equipment.
- Work closely with the production team to maximise machine performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or similar role.
- Good mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Welding or fabrication experience would be an advantage.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexible approach to working hours when required.
Desirable Electrical Skills
While this is primarily a mechanical fitting role, the following electrical skills would be an advantage:
- Basic electrical fault-finding on industrial machinery.
- Understanding of motors, sensors, contactors, relays and inverters (VFDs).
- Experience with three-phase electrical systems.
- PLC fault diagnosis (basic level).
- Safe isolation procedures and understanding of electrical safety regulations.
