What the job involves
- Support teaching staff in delivering a quality curriculum in line with the school's vision and ethos
- Support pupils with additional needs through a nurturing approach that builds belonging and independence over time
- Deliver an individualised curriculum to meet EHCP requirements under the direction of the class teacher
- Adapt activities to take account of each pupil's interests
- Work autonomously, following all academy policies, particularly safeguarding, child protection and confidentiality
Skills & knowledge
- Passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Awareness of autism and early communication strategies, such as visual timetables and objects of reference
- Knowledge of the primary national curriculum
- Ability to adapt activities to pupils' interests
- Excellent written and spoken English
