Working Hours: 4 on/4 off 12 hour shifts

We are seeking a reliable and experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver to join a busy metals processing and recycling operation in Willenhall. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe movement, loading, unloading, and storage of metal materials while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
  • Load and unload vehicles in accordance with company procedures
  • Move, stack, and organise metal products and materials within the yard and warehouse areas
  • Conduct daily FLT safety checks and report any defects immediately
  • Ensure materials are stored correctly and safely
  • Assist with stock control and inventory management as required
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Assist with general yard duties when forklift work is not required
  • Work closely with production and transport teams to meet operational targets

Requirements:

  • Valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, or equivalent Counterbalance FLT licence
  • Previous experience operating a Counterbalance FLT within an industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or metals environment
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work

Desirable:

  • Experience within the metal recycling or scrap metal industry
  • Experience loading and unloading heavy or irregularly shaped materials
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Basic computer skills for stock management systems
