Team Leader – Children’s Residential Services
Location: Burton-upon-Trent
Salary: £29,000 - £32,000 per annum + sleep-in payments & shift enhancements
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (including days, evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)
Reports To: Deputy Manager / Registered Manager
About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a children's residential home in Burton-upon-Trent. You will lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring children and young people receive safe, nurturing, high-quality care while maintaining compliance with Ofsted and Children's Home Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and supervise staff on shift
- Conduct handovers, supervisions and support staff development
- Support care planning, risk assessments and key working sessions
- Promote safeguarding and maintain accurate records
- Assist with rotas, medication administration and health & safety
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals
- Support admissions, referrals and transitions into the home
- Use therapeutic approaches and de-escalation techniques to manage behaviours positively
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS check
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience within residential childcare
- Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and Children's Home Regulations
