Residential Support Worker - Children's Services
Location: Burton-upon-Trent
Salary: £24,500 - £29,000 per annum + sleep-in allowance
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)
Reports To: Team Leader / Deputy Manager / Registered Manager
About the Role
We are recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join the team at Burton-upon-Trent. You will play a vital role in supporting children and young people, helping them achieve positive outcomes while providing a safe, nurturing and stable home
environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Support daily routines including education, health, leisure activities and emotional wellbeing
- Encourage positive behaviour through consistency, support and role modelling
- Assist with cooking, cleaning, personal care and independent living skills
- Maintain accurate records, reports and keyworker documentation
- Support care planning, risk assessments and review meetings
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of children at all times
- Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques when required
- Attend training, team meetings and supervision sessions
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within 2 years
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Passion for supporting children and young people
