The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
We are looking to recruit an additional Criminal Paralegal/Caseworker to join our busy Crown Court Department in Medway, Kent. The position would ideally suit a candidate seeking to break into the profession and if not already police station accredited, we will provide support and training in achieving this qualification. For the right candidate, there could also be the opportunity in due course to embark upon the pathway to qualification as a solicitor.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking instructions from clients (both on bail and in custody)
- Taking statements from defence witnesses
- Instructing expert witnesses
- Draft legal documents, interview witnesses, and prepare case files to a high professional standard
- Ensure all file handling is compliant with firm policies, LAA regulations, and SRA standards
- Liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service and Court as required
- Collating and reviewing documentation and evidence
- Managing a caseload efficiently
- Briefing counsel
