We are looking to recruit an additional Criminal Paralegal/Caseworker to join our busy Crown Court Department in Medway, Kent. The position would ideally suit a candidate seeking to break into the profession and if not already police station accredited, we will provide support and training in achieving this qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking instructions from clients (both on bail and in custody)
- Taking statements from defence witnesses
- Instructing expert witnesses
- Draft legal documents, interview witnesses, and prepare case files to a high professional standard
- Ensure all file handling is compliant with firm policies, LAA regulations, and SRA standards
- Liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service and Court as required
- Collating and reviewing documentation and evidence
- Managing a caseload efficiently
- Briefing counsel
