We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in London.

We will provide support and encouragement to help you work towards your chosen accountancy qualification, alongside gaining valuable practical experience within a growing and professionally managed Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Finance team with a range of day-to-day accounting and financial responsibilities, including:

• Manage a high-volume finance inbox, maintaining prompt resolution of stakeholder queries.
• Accurately process expenses, accounts payable invoices, cash postings, and banking transactions to support smooth financial operations.
• Reconcile supplier statements and corporate credit cards, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Coordinate bi-monthly BACS payment runs and portal-based payments, ensuring compliance with internal controls and payment deadlines.
• Monitored aged debtors’ reports, investigated overdue accounts, and escalated issues where necessary to minimise credit risk.
• Provide support to month-end close activities and reporting, helping deliver accurate financial information to management.
• Built strong relationships with internal departments by providing financial support, guidance, and analysis as required.
• Assist with finance project and process improvements as the business continue to grow.

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

• Has previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Has a genuine ambition to progress within accountancy
• Is interested in working towards a professional accountancy qualification
• Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work
• Is confident using Microsoft Excel and financial systems
• Has good numerical and analytical skills
• Is organised and able to manage competing priorities
• Can work independently while also contributing effectively to a team
• Has a professional and proactive approach
• Is keen to learn, develop and take on additional responsibility

Previous experience within a law firm is essential.
