Company Description
TTP is an employee-owned technology and product development consultancy, with a 40-year track record of helping ambitious clients solve complex challenges and bring innovative, commercially successful solutions to market.
We invent, design, and manufacture impactful products and technologies across a wide range of industries β including healthcare, life science, energy, and communications β and at the intersection of engineering, physical science, and biology.
Whatever your career stage, your expertise and creativity will be appreciated and nurtured from day one. You\βll dive straight into contributing to technical projects, solving complex real-world problems, and being a trusted and integral member of the team.
Job Description
As TTP is a multi-disciplinary environment, you will work alongside talented people from a wide range of academic backgrounds β from biologists, to engineers, to physicists β getting to learn from them, whilst also making your own mark on projects.
This internship at TTP presents the opportunity to join us for a year, working alongside our consultants and gaining an insight into life in a technical consultancy. You will contribute to exciting live client and internal TTP projects to get hands-on, practical experience, and learn more about what a career in innovative technology and product development can offer.
Alongside your technical work, you will gain exposure to the consulting side of engineering. This may include sitting in on client meetings, seeing how project updates are presented, and understanding how client requirements shape the technical direction of a project. You\βll also have the chance to observe how TTP builds relationships with clients and develops new opportunities, giving you a clear picture of what consulting means in practice.
You will have the chance to participate in all areas of the work we do, including time in the lab, joining team meetings and interacting with our clients; experiencing the day-to-day reality of a career with one of Europe\βs leading technology businesses.
Requirements
- Proactive and self-starting, with a strong sense of personal responsibility and a drive to make things happen.
- Deep intellectual curiosity and inventiveness, with a desire to understand how things work at a fundamental level. You should be on track for a minimum 2:1 in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline (e.g. General, Biomedical, Aerospace, Automotive), with a strong academic record that reflects your capacity for rigorous, first-principles thinking.
- Collaborative and emotionally intelligent, able to build trust, energise those around you, and communicate complex technical ideas with clarity, empathy, and precision, regardless of your audience\βs background.
- Commercially aware and entrepreneurial; excited by the opportunity to turn breakthrough technologies into real-world products, ventures, and impact.
- Strategic β able to see the bigger picture, anticipate challenges and opportunities, and navigate ambiguity while keeping priorities sharp and focused.
We\βre looking for those who don\βt just solve problems β but who seek them out, thrive on them, and elevate those around them while doing so.
We encourage you to apply as early as possible as we review applications on a rolling basis. You must have completed at least 2 years of your degree when your internship begins, so students at the beginning of second year are welcome to apply.
