Job Description
The opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team here at our facility in Melbourn, near Cambridge. The role is offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis and will be integral to ensuring the smooth-running of finance and accounting process for our three product businesses. You will act as principal support to our Finance Director and work collaboratively across business operations, running autonomous cycles for management accounts, cashflow and a variety of accounting requests as they arise. You will be integral in informing and supporting robust decision-making combined with strong financial controls.
Position Summary
- Be accountable for delivering monthly management accounts, financial reporting and analytical insight to the leadership teams of our three product businesses.
- Produce accurate forecasting reports which inform next steps for our short-term financial planning, ensuring robust liquidity.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounts preparation as well as periodic submissions.
- Working with two ERP systems (Syteline and NetSuite), you will utilise the software to create accurate records and data from which to generate actionable insights.
- Supporting the Finance team with ad hoc duties such as reconciliations, expense accruals, reporting and audits during quieter parts of the monthly cycle.
- Identify opportunities for improvements which could increase accuracy and efficiency within our Finance and Accounting function.
Qualifications
About You
- Experienced Management Accountant with CIMA or ACCA qualification.
- Practiced in preparing month-end and year-end accounts, management information reports and analysis of data for reporting purposes.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Excel (pivot tables, formulas, analysis) and accounting principles essential.
- Previous experience of Syteline and/or Netsuite preferred.
- Ideally you will have provided financial support across several business entities concurrently and be able to switch between differing systems and associated personnel with ease.
- Detail-oriented and methodical with proven ability to prioritise tasks effectively, adaptable and efficient in equal measure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills - comfortable making business recommendations and supporting a busy Finance landscape.
