Position Overview
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support to our clients elderly residents. Your compassion, dedication, and commitment to the role will ensure that residents receive the personalized care they deserve. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Supporting residents with mobility and daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful connections and relationships.
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals and colleagues to ensure holistic care and continuity of support for residents.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, observing and reporting any changes in residents\’ health or behaviour.
Qualifications and Skills
- NISCC registration is mandatory
- 6 months previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare or elderly care setting is preferred.
- A genuine passion for caring for elderly individuals and a commitment to providing person-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to supporting residents\’ physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care is desirable.
- Right to work in Northern Ireland is required.
