Job Summary: As a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, and effective radiographic examinations across a range of clinical areas. You will play a vital role in the diagnosis and care of patients, working within multidisciplinary teams across NHS Radiology departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently undertake radiographic procedures in accordance with IRR (NI) 2017 and IR(ME)R (NI) 2018.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the imaging process.
- Carry out routine equipment checks and quality assurance tasks.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to information governance standards.
- Participate in CPD activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Liaise effectively with clinical staff to support diagnostic workflows.
- Supervise and support junior staff and student radiographers.
- Participate in extended working hours, weekend shifts, and on-call duties, as required.
Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- HCPC registration (required at time of appointment).
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, infection control, and radiation safety.
- Full UK driving licence or equivalent transport arrangements.
