We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide high-quality support within care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, support care plans, and ensure the wellbeing of clients. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their comfort and dignity
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
- Assist with light domestic duties including meal preparation and light cleaning
- Support clients with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Drive or accompany clients to appointments or outings when required (driving skills are advantageous)
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is desirable
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when needed
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in following care plans
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn driving if necessary
