Key Account Manager (Amazon)
We are pleased to share a new role within the Retail Sales team at Vax! This is a great role working with an experienced team of Key Account and National Accountant Managers. Reporting to the Head of Retail Sales, you will take overall full P&L responsibility for managing and developing one of the largest accounts across the retail business. As part of an agile commercial team, you will have a strong grasp of the UK retail eco-system and be able to drive change and best practice, underpinned by a desire to always go one better. This role is a core position within the organisation and will work closely with key stakeholders and teams across the group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Stock, Sales & Forecast Management: An obsession for sales-out which is the key underpinning for the role. Coordinate and deliver best in class online experience, distribution and share of category voice to optimise sales-out conversion and to ensure all opportunities are exploited. Drive best practice in stock/sales forecasting & service/availability management. This requires an eye for detail, an obsession for EPOS, a good understanding of the end to end supply chain and the tenacity to chase every opportunity with an attitude that treats missing sales personally. Accurate and thorough management of account forecasts is essential to support a healthy business and is therefore a key & measurable performance metric. Account relationship support and development to ensure forecast buy in and accuracy through the year and to hit key events.
- Joint Business Plan: Thorough account planning and proactive management of revenue and margin via JBP operated both internally and externally. The JBP will act as the annual business plan but be reviewed monthly & quarterly to ensure all account metrics are achieved and relevant stakeholders engaged. The AM must live and breathe this process. Within the JBP create, own and proactively manage 12 month rolling promotional and above the line plans with account objectives in mind and engaging all relevant stakeholders in the process. Effectively manage and plan ranges with Product teams to ensure a smooth, optimal and continual coverage of key price points within an effective range hierarchy, including taking a lead role and coordinating range review meetings.
- P&L Management: Maintain full profit and loss responsibility for the account, driving profitable growth & accurately forecasting volume, value, GM and account budgets within agreed timescales. Actively manage all account costs/liabilities working closely with key stakeholders including commercial Finance.
- Cross functional Management & Vax meeting cycles: Work cross functionally with all relevant teams to proactively manage product ranges through the full planning cycle and champion your account requirements in the process. There will be a heavy emphasis on consumer/customer insight throughout. Attend and actively participate in the Vax meeting cycles to provide performance updates, channel insights and opportunities.

Experience of managing an Amazon account is a pre-requisite for the position. During the interview process we will want to see evidence of a robust track record of delivering account growth and the ability to demonstrate strategic account development and hands on management.
