We are seeking an EC&I Technician to join our team on a fixed-term basis for up to two years, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. The purpose of this role is to deliver hands-on maintenance, fault-finding, calibration, and improvement activities across site assets, ensuring equipment performance, compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and minimal operational downtime. Working closely with operations, engineering, and contractors, the EC&I Technician will contribute to planned and reactive maintenance, small projects, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate faults on plant highlighted by the notification process in SAP.
- Progress notifications into work orders.
- Complete daily scheduled work, ensuring the highest standards of H&S are followed.
- Ensure tooling/equipment used is in date inspection and suitable (PUWER, LOLER).
- Co-ordinate third party contractors on site when required.
- Find and implement improvements to plant (continuous improvement).
- Assist in the planning and delivery of outages.
- Be reactive to breakdowns when required.
- Report progress of work as required.
- Assist in the development of apprentices on site.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Background
- Demonstrable experience gained within the power generation industry or similar heavy industry - essential.
- Previous experience of contractor management - essential.
- Proven experience in the overhaul, maintenance, and repair of valves and pumps within an industrial or manufacturing environment - essential.
- Good numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills - essential.
- Demonstratable competence in use of IT/IS skills (e.g. MS Office) - essential.
- Appreciation of the core components of a CCGT and how they operate - desirable.
Knowledge
- Fault finding on LV systems - essential.
- Knowledge of motors and drives - essential.
- 4-20mA Instrumentation/Calibration (Beamex) - essential.
- Electrical installation - essential.
- Able to interpret electrical/circuit diagrams - essential.

Qualifications
