Based at Ballylumford & Kilroot Power Stations, an opportunity has arisen to recruit a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join the Maintenance team covering both Ballylumford and Kilroot power stations. The successful candidate will play an active part in the integrated maintenance team, having responsibility for the complete asset care, as well as all associated auxiliary and ancillary plants. They will support the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the stations, contribute to the achievement of Company objectives and business targets, and manage contractors and EP colleagues in the execution of their work where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Maintenance Controller (Mechanical), the key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out all forms of maintenance (routine, overhaul, breakdown etc.) and defect investigation on all designated plant to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant in accordance with overall company objectives.
- Identifying and sourcing spares and new stock required to facilitate maintenance, utilising SAP for stock spares as well as liaising with external suppliers and OEMs to identify and source suitable parts.
- Implementing maintenance strategies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant and carrying out work to specified and appropriate standards, whilst contributing to the development and review of ongoing maintenance strategies.
- Contributing to the development of maintenance plans in conjunction with other maintenance team members and other departments.
- Be authorised to the appropriate level in accordance with EP safety rules, which will require interfacing directly with Operations staff in respect to the application of the safety documentation system, whilst operating the SAP/Eclipse interface in requesting the execution of maintenance works.
- Be authorised to the appropriate level with respect to Risk Assessment creation and approval.
- Regular use of the SAP system including work orders, inventory, and purchasing.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through plant monitoring, fault diagnosis and other maintenance techniques.
- Initiating modifications and adjustments consistent with improved plant performance and executing through application of plant change control procedure.
- Reporting on plant condition and carrying out repairs, modifications and installation of new or replacement equipment as required.
