An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the TTEP Finance team based in the Leeds office. This is a varied role within the GB Gas finance team, focused on delivering insightful financial performance analysis to support the achievement of targets and identify opportunities to drive additional value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare Weekly Gross Margin estimates to support regular reviews with the trading team.
    • Prepare and analyse gross margin results for the GB Gas Assets in line with month end delivery timescales and recognised accounting standards.
    • Conduct and present analysis of monthly gross margin and work with Commercial Finance team to help challenge trading team to understand performance.
    • Support finance cost managers on maintaining accounts, improvements etc. with focus on appropriate treatment of balance sheet cash flow items and reporting adjustments.
    • Create new management accounts and forecast models for any additional assets moving into the GB Gas suite including any potential organisational changes resulting from lifetime extension projects and acquisition activity.
    • Initial review/feedback on balance sheet reconciliations for GB Gas assets, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
    • Support on financial modelling/analysis as required.
  • Forecasting / Budgeting
    • Key involvement in monthly reforecasting process at a Gross Margin level, applying knowledge of actual performance to ensure assumptions are valid and appropriate.
    • Provide support to Senior Commercial Finance Manager to help challenge and understand despatch decisions taken by the Trading team and assist in developing optimal trading strategies.
    • Consolidation and co-ordination of Gross margin and Cost business plan materials, packs and commentary, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Identification and development of risks and opportunities and support and co-ordinate sensitivity analysis.
  • Other reporting
    • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all group reporting for the GB Gas assets.
    • Responsible for submission of GB Gas financial KPIs as required, preparation of monthly 'key issues' packs.
    • Provide support as required on West Burton B JV financial performance analysis.
    • Assist on audit co-ordination, progress tracking and provision of relevant audit information/evidence as required.
    • Support the site team in ensuring all external submissions are done in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of central items such as pensions, tax within the GB Gas assets.
    • Drive continuous improvement across GB Gas processes.
    • Support the central team with information required to prepare statutory accounts.
    • Assist the Head of Finance with other reporting requirements as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Background
    • Previous experience in a similar reporting finance role - essential.
    • Experience of dealing with large, complex data sets and financial models - essential.
    • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build and use excel models and analyse data - essential.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and their appropriate application - essential.
    • Basic understanding of UK taxation - essential.
    • Experience of working in an energy, manufacturing or production focussed environment - desirable.
    • Experience of SAP - desirable.
