Position Summary:

The Test Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing testing activities across the technology delivery lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on Technical Testing (Unit, CIT, System) & System Integration Testing (SIT). The role ensures all stakeholders are effectively supported to validate solutions, testing activities are aligned to the integrated programme plan, and risks, dependencies, and progress are clearly managed and reported. The Test Coordinator operates within the technology teams and across the Quality capability on the programme, providing structure, visibility, and control over testing activities. The role focuses on enabling technology testing, ensuring up and down stream testing outcomes are understood, and confirming solutions are fit for purpose prior to release.

Understanding of Testing Activities Supporting Technology Value Streams:

The Test Coordinator understands the detailed technical testing and end-to-end testing activities required to enable effective SIT and ensures these activities are coordinated, visible, and aligned to delivery of the technical solution to enable end-to-end validation.

Testing Scope and Readiness:

Understands overall testing scope, environments, roles, timelines, and entry and exit criteria to ensure all test phases are planned realistically and aligned to the integrated programme plan.

SIT Preparation Inputs:

Ensures business-focused test scenarios, test data, access, and supporting materials are in place so the tech teams can execute SIT efficiently and with confidence.

Upstream Testing Outcomes:

Provides and interprets Unit, System and Integration testing results to confirm SIT readiness, identify residual risks, and prevent SIT being impacted by unresolved technical issues.

SIT Coordination and Execution:

Plans and coordinates SIT activities, supports Integration testers, tracks execution progress, and ensures issues and blockers are managed promptly.

Results, Risks, and Sign-off:

Consolidates SIT outcomes, defects, and risks to support informed Technology sign-off and E2E/UAT readiness decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Unit, System, CIT & SIT plans aligned to the integrated programme plan.
  • Coordinate Unit, System, CIT & SIT schedules, environments, test data, and business participant availability.
  • Align to and manage SIT entry and exit criteria across the programme.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for programme testing stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance, materials, and support to enable effective E2E/UAT testing.
  • Manage expectations and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Support the defect management process from logging through closure.
  • Facilitate defect triage, prioritisation, resolution, and retesting.
  • Ensure clear visibility of defect status and impact.

Progress Tracking and Reporting:

Support the tracking of test execution progress, including pass, fail, blocked, and outstanding scenarios. Report testing status, risks, and dependencies to programme stakeholders. Highlight variances to plan and recommend corrective actions.

Risk and Dependency Management:

Identify, assess, and manage testing risks impacting SIT/UAT and business readiness. Map and manage dependencies between interrelated testing streams and releases. Escalate risks and dependency issues with mitigation options.

Governance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure testing activities comply with agreed QA processes and governance standards. Maintain traceability between requirements, Test scenarios, defects, and sign-off.

Key Capabilities and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of structured testing activities and SIT coordination.
  • Proven experience supporting business-led testing in complex programmes.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Disciplined approach to defect management, reporting, and risk management.

Outcome Focus:

The Test Coordinator enables confident business validation by ensuring SIT is well planned, well supported, and transparently governed, reducing delivery and operational risk at go-live.

Additional skills required:

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing plus 5+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Experience in large scale front-office, middle-office and back-office programme delivery in asset management/financial services sector.
  • Deep understanding and business knowledge on OEMS End-to-End life cycle covering all asset classes.
  • Experience of implementing BlackRock’s Aladdin Platform.
  • Experience in leading business test execution phases using both manual and automated testing practices.
  • Familiarity with test and defect management tools (JIRA).
  • Certification in testing practices.
