TT2 Limited, the operator of the iconic Tyne Tunnels has an exciting opportunity for a proactive experienced full-time Maintenance Officer to join our friendly and supportive team at our premises in Wallsend, North Tyneside. This is for a fixed term contract of 12 months and please note this is not a remote position. About this career opportunity: The role is varied and interesting and you will play a key role in supporting the Maintenance team to plan, organise, deliver and review scheduled and reactive maintenance on the Tunnels, buildings and all associated infrastructure, systems and equipment.

  • Plan, deliver and complete maintenance activities as directed by the Computerised Maintenance Management System or prioritised by the Asset Manager / Maintenance Supervisor or Duty Tunnel Controller. Ensuring accurate and timely recording of all work undertaken.
  • Investigation and correction of faults on computerised, PLC, electrical and mechanical equipment, including SCADA system.
  • Carry out the servicing, inspection, maintenance and repair of tunnel and toll equipment in accordance with operational requirements and safety standards.
  • Support operational staff during emergency incidents.
  • Assist with operational activity when required, to ensure traffic flow efficiency.

Essential requirements:

  • Educated to NVQ City & Guilds Electrical Installations - Level 3 or equivalent
  • BS7671 18th Edition qualified
  • Valid Manual Driving Licence

Desirable Skill Requirements:

  • Licence to include Trailer/LGV elements
  • Operation of Mobile Elevated Working Platforms
  • Operation of abrasive discs
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Slinging and safe lifting operations
  • Generation and issue of permits to work
  • PAT Testing

Location and working hours: Working as part of a team, this role involves working in all weather conditions as part of a rolling shift pattern. You will be contracted to work 37 hours per week plus 5.88 average hours contractual overtime. The current schedule is 4 x 12.25 hour shifts made up of: 06:45-19:00hrs for 2 days, 18:45-07:00hrs for 2 nights, followed by 4 rest days. This rotation is over 365 days per year including working bank holidays.
