We are looking for a new colleague for the Food Sales department for the position of Account Manager - Doehler UK.
Expectations and Accountability
- Responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with assigned customers and achieving sales quota/CM1 and assigned strategic account objectives.
- Representing the entire range of company products and services; leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring customers’ needs and expectations are met by the Company.
- Continuously developing unique ways to grow the business with customers and provide solutions to management in the face of challenges.
Main Responsibilities / Tasks
- Executing the annual sales planning and constantly updating customer-related forecasts.
- Proactively and continuously evaluating, coordinating and validating customer requirements in order to enhance customer loyalty and increase customer value.
- Supporting assigned customers in the best possible way by establishing professional relationship management with the respective decision-makers.
- Attaining the sales, turnover and profit targets as well as introducing suitable measures to counteract potential and actual deviations in consultation with the line manager.
- Implementing the operative targets (e.g. portfolio business, new business, competitor share, new business fields) for the area of responsibility, taking long-term strategic corporate targets into account.
- Creating account development plans for defined customers and updating them regularly.
- Ensuring and implementing customer projects and tracking sample and quote evaluation and contract status with intervention at the customer site where necessary.
- Building strong internal networks within Döhler, with intensive collaboration within ISS, CS, BUs, application, R&D, procurement, quality, and upscaling teams.
- Managing customer and project data in our CRM system (WeLead) and ensuring optimal insights.
- Developing and implementing sales and business unit initiatives.
For all roles
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the company’s products, services, customers, processes, and relevant systems required to perform the role effectively.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with colleagues and cross‑functional teams to ensure the timely exchange of information and support collaborative working.
- Support the effective use of financial and physical resources by adhering to departmental budgets and working with the Team Leader to address any actual or potential variances.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date, and accessible records within the company’s internal IT systems.
- Agree and work towards clear individual objectives, targets, and success criteria aligned to team and business goals.
- Complete all tasks in accordance with customer technical, quality, and delivery requirements, as well as company procedures, policies, Health and Safety standards, and relevant industry codes of practice.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
What you will bring
- Technically proficient (familiar with ingredients and their application in application and knowledge of production processes (B2B + B2C)).
- At least 5 years of work experience in B2B or B2C sales within the Food industry.
- An excellent sense of prioritisation.
- Well‑organized, goal‑oriented, and have strong communication skills to help you build relationships.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- You must have a valid driving licence and be willing to travel in the UK with occasional travel to the EU.
- You will preferably have a recognised certification in food science / technology.
