Role Overview and Responsibilities
TT Electronics, Bedlington, is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Manager, accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment, plant infrastructure, and site utilities across the Bedlington Resistors business unit. You'll ensure manufacturing equipment delivers the levels of performance, availability, and reliability required to meet customer, quality, and operational objectives. Leading the maintenance function, you'll drive a proactive maintenance culture through preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, continuous improvement, and disciplined asset management. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and HSE, you'll support operational excellence while developing team capability and ensuring compliance with all statutory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Equipment maintenance, developing strategies, monitoring KPIs, and updating the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maximise availability and reliability whilst also minimising production downtime and driving equipment performance.
- Operational Support of manufacturing and planned maintenance activities to minimise disruption to production schedules, and support new equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and production readiness.
- Leading, developing, and motivating a high performing team and establishing clear objectives through development discussions.
- Maintaining a safe working environment across all maintenance activities by ensuring maintenance operations comply with all Health & Safety legislation, leading risk assessments and supporting compliance.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Managing the maintenance budget and supporting the development and delivery of the annual CapEx programme along with inventory management of maintenance stores and critical spare parts.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
What We Look For:
- A Bachelors degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles and asset management.
- Experience managing automated manufacturing equipment, PLC-controlled machinery, and industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programmes.
- Good financial awareness with experience managing maintenance budgets and capital investment.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and maintenance best practice.
