Role Overview and Responsibilities
TT Electronics, Eastleigh, is hiring for an Engineering Manager, responsible for the management of the Design & Engineering Department covering Product Design, Engineering KPI management and reporting, New Product Introduction, and Lean / 5S continuous improvement within the engineering community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Effective management of the Design & Engineering department to maximise utilisation, achieve consistency and efficiency, and champion continuous improvement.
- Monitoring all project work assignments to ensure milestones are being achieved and transferred to Production within agreed timescales.
- Collating and managing Divisional / Group and AS 9100 Engineering KPI requirements including the production of monthly update reports.
- Ensuring all new business provides total budgeted margins and recoveries and costs are monitored throughout every stage of the design to manufacturing process.
- Leading department Lean / 5S implementation & sustainability efforts and managing the development and construction of tools / production aids to comply with Lean and required HSE standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
What We Look For:
- A Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
- Experience in HMI design applications.
- Comfortable interacting with customers, with the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Supervisory or project leadership experience.
- A strong focus on record keeping and documentation.
- Demonstrated understanding of ISO & AS requirements for quality audits and corrective actions.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- The ability to analyse data to identify cost / productivity improvements.
- Strong time management / organisational skills.
- The ability to prepare and conduct corporate presentations.
The following would enhance your application but are not essential to apply:
- Knowledge and the ability to work in 2D and 3D CAD environments.
