Our Barnstaple facility is located in North Devon. Founded in 1948, the site now employs approximately 140 employees and features the Aero Stanrew brand of electromagnetic components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for safety critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial and transportation industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

TT Electronics, Barnstaple, is hiring for a Production Engineer in the Electronics team.

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Production Engineer to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a varied role supporting production, new product introduction, process improvement, quality initiatives, and customer projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage manufacturing configuration control and engineering changes.
  • Support new product introduction, first-off builds, and production readiness.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, build standards, test documentation, and BOMs.
  • Provide technical support to production, test, quality, purchasing, and sales teams.
  • Investigate production issues, customer returns, and non-conformances using root cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical matters and product requirements.
  • Support tooling design, calibration activities, and manufacturing process development.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

What We Look For:

  • Experience in a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor experience desirable).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, 8D, or continuous improvement methodologies would be an advantage.
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, TurboCAD, Visio, or similar) is desirable.
