What You'll Do
As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll be initially responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Gaining practical experience across manufacturing and engineering operations
- Safely operating production and engineering equipment
- Understanding quality standards, inspections, and quality control processes
- Carrying out routine cleaning, checks, and preventative maintenance of machinery
- Maintaining accurate production documentation and records
- Contributing continuous improvement ideas to support efficiency and processes
- Supporting warehouse operations, materials, and stock control
- Gaining experience within the calibration laboratory environment
- Developing practical skills in welding and manual machining techniques
You’ll learn side-by-side with experienced colleagues who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, giving you hands-on exposure to a wide range of tasks and a real understanding of how the whole business operates. With dedicated mentoring and support, you’ll build confidence, develop in-demand skills, and lay strong foundations for a long-term career in engineering.
Training Outcome
Opportunity to progress into a permanent technician role (e.g. Engineering Machinist, Maintenance Engineer, Quality Inspector, Welder) with further opportunities for Higher National Certificates (HNC/HND).
