At TT Electronics, Fairford, we're hiring for an experienced and commercially aware NPI Project Manager to lead the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing. The successful candidate will take ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards. You'll play a critical role in balancing customer expectations with operational capability while supporting business growth and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end NPI projects from quotation / order through to production ramp‑up and operational handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, risk registers, and reporting structures.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed scope, quality, and delivery expectations.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial.
- Escalate risks, delays, and resource constraints appropriately while proposing practical solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead internal project reviews, progress meetings, and status reporting.
Manufacturing & Operational Readiness
- Ensure manufacturing readiness for new product launches including process validation, tooling, documentation, and operator training schedules.
- Support the transition from prototype and development builds into serial production.
- Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure material availability and supplier readiness.
- Collaborate with Quality to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor launch performance and coordinate corrective actions where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve NPI processes, project governance, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Support lessons learned activities and drive improvements into future programmes.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing NPI or manufacturing projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and structured delivery methods.
- Experience working cross‑functionally within engineering and manufacturing businesses.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance customer needs with operational capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning tools.
- A PRINCE2 Practitioner / APM PMQ qualification would enhance your application, but is not essential.
