TT Electronics, Bedlington, is hiring a detail-oriented and driven

Metrology Specialist (Microelectronics) to join our manufacturing engineering team.

In this role, you’ll be the technical lead for advanced inspection and measurement systems, ensuring our manufacturing processes maintain the highest standards of precision, quality, and repeatability.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of new inspection and measurement equipment from cleanroom integration to final sign-off.
  • Developing and executing rigorous qualification protocols.
  • Establishing baseline capabilities and system analysis to ensure reliability.
  • Leading projects related to automated data collection, SPC, real-time monitoring, and machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.
  • Collaborating with IT and engineering teams to integrate metrology data for predictive maintenance.
  • Authoring, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintaining strict version control for measurement recipes, calibration master files, and audit-readiness documentation.
  • Designing and delivering structured training programs and certifications for all equipment users.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for root-cause analysis.

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Industrial, or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in a metrology, quality, or process engineering role.
  • A proven track record of managing equipment installation.
  • Familiarity with advanced metrology and non-destructive testing (NDT) tools.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • The following would enhance your application but are not essential to apply:
  • Experience with automation scripts, Python, or database querying.
  • Microelectronics assembly, semiconductor packaging, or high-precision manufacturing experience.
