Our Barnstaple facility is located in North Devon. Founded in 1948, the site now employs approximately 160 employees and features the Aero Stanrew brand of electromagnetic components, printed‑circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for safety critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial and transportation industries.

Role Overview And Responsibilities
At TT Electronics, Barnstaple, we’re hiring for a FAIR Engineer within our Quality department to work with multiple teams across the business to produce / capture and submit First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the introduction of new parts and tools into the manufacturing environment.
- Evaluating the Production of Support documentation for products including Route Cards, Job Traveller, Control Plans and Build Standards.
- Accurately and comprehensively understanding GD&T as well as reconciling test data with tolerances.
- Demonstrating safe behaviours at all times, and ensuring ourself and others in your working areas are safe and not exposed to significant risk.
- Maintaining customer contact and approving delta Fairs and full Fairs.
- Conducting internal audits to AS9100.
This is a 12 month, Fixed Term Contract.
What we’re looking for:
- Sound understanding of the Aerospace Industry.
- The ability to read engineering drawings, understanding Key Characteristics (KC), and Geometric tolerances.
- The ability to internalise AS9100 and AS9102.
- Demonstrable organisational, planning and programme management skills with careful attention to detail.
- A high standard of Maths and English.
- A strong interest in mechanical/electronic engineering.
- A formal qualification in Quality, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
- A PPAP/Lean Manufacturing/CI qualification or relevant experience in the application of lean tools and creations of improvement plans (six sigma).
Please be aware that many roles at TT Electronics are subject to both security and export control restrictions which means that limitations relating to nationality may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). TT Electronics is unable to sponsor work visas for this role.
