Role Overview And Responsibilities
At TT Electronics, Abercynon, we are hiring for a Sales Account Manager to join our team. The role of the Sales Account Manager is to drive order intake, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction by owning the end‑to‑end sales desk process, converting enquiries into orders, accelerating response times and ensuring seamless execution across internal functions. The role acts as the commercial hub between customer, engineering and operations, ensuring fast, accurate and competitive responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Ownership
- Own and manage customer enquiries from receipt through to delivery.
- Convert enquiries into orders through proactive follow‑up and commercial awareness.
- Ensure pricing, lead times and terms align with margin expectations.
- Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.
- Customer Interface
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
- Deliver fast, accurate and professional responses to all enquiries.
- Build strong working relationships with customers to support repeat business.
- Communicate proactively on delivery status, risks and solutions.
- Quotation & Order Management
- Prepare and issue accurate quotations.
- Enter and manage orders.
- Actively chase quotation feedback and order placement.
- Internal Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to ensure alignment between customer expectations and operational capability.
- Escalate risks early and propose solutions.
- Delivery & Execution Focus
- Monitor order progress and ensure on‑time delivery performance.
- Proactively manage delays and communicate recovery plans.
- Support resolution of customer issues quickly and effectively.
- Pipeline & Opportunity Development
- Support Business Development Managers with opportunity tracking, customer intelligence and follow‑ups.
- Identify new business opportunities through customer interaction.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in response times, quote conversion rates and customer experience.
- Challenge inefficiencies in current processes and propose solutions.
- Contribute to sales desk KPI’s and performance tracking.
Qualifications, Skills And Attributes
- Experience in manufacturing/engineering sales environment.
- Strong commercial awareness (pricing, margin and negotiation).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
