Role Overview
The Senior Claims Executive (EMEA) plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, professional claims and advisory service to TT Club Members and brokers across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, covering ports, terminals, transport operators, ship operators and logistics sectors. The role combines hands-on claims handling, technical expertise, and trusted advisory support across multiple jurisdictions. The position also contributes to the wider success of the Club by supporting regional Member relationships, business development, and loss prevention initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a consistently high-quality claims service to Members and brokers across the EMEA region.
- Handle claims efficiently, fairly, and in line with established claims handling standards and procedures, taking account of regional legal and regulatory environments.
- Provide technical guidance and strategic advice on claims within agreed authority levels, including complex and high-value matters.
- Escalate significant, sensitive, or cross-border claims issues to the Regional Claims Director as appropriate.
- Support underwriting and marketing colleagues by contributing regional claims insight and assisting with Member engagement and development.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with assigned Members, brokers, correspondents, and service providers across EMEA.
- Contribute to the Club’s regional business objectives, including Member retention and the development of new business opportunities.
- Assist with contract reviews, under the guidance of the Regional Claims Director, with awareness of regional contractual practices.
- Participate in internal and external training activities, including sharing technical knowledge and regional experience with colleagues.
- Actively promote and support loss prevention initiatives delivered by the Loss Prevention team across the EMEA region.
Skills, Experience, and Attributes
- Significant prior experience in claims handling, ideally within marine (including General Average and Salvage), ports, terminals, transport, or logistics sectors.
- Experience handling claims across multiple jurisdictions or regions, preferably within EMEA.
- Strong understanding of claims processes and the ability to apply sound judgement in complex, cross-border situations.
- Confidence representing the organisation when dealing with Members, brokers, and external service providers from diverse cultural and regulatory backgrounds.
