About the Role

Our Accounting team is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity perfect for a qualified accounting professional to play a vital role in supporting the Head of European Accounting. Based in our Syston, Leicester office (LE7 1PL) operating on a hybrid basis, you will be responsible for accounting, reporting and review of the UK and Ireland business units.

What you'll own

  • Act as reporting accountant to prepare regulatory financial and statutory reporting for the UK and Ireland businesses.
  • Manage the closure of the annual accounts process for the UK and Ireland businesses, leading on the production of the financial statements.
  • Liaise effectively with external and internal auditors regarding the year-end schedule and audit process for the UK and Ireland businesses.
  • Responsible for ensuring the business is adhering to accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP) and providing technical advice on accounting treatments.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of month end closing process for European entities.

What you'll bring

  • Minimum 3+ years finance or accounting experience.
  • Audit experience essential.
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA.
  • Demonstrate a detailed technical understanding of both international and local financial reporting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and show the ability to interpret and apply these standards to both local circumstances.
  • Highly organised.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate well with all levels of staff, including executive & senior management, and to be a team player as part of a wider virtual team.
  • Requirement to work flexibly when required.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to manage own workload against tight deadlines.
