TST Group is expanding and we are looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our Planning Team in Ballymena on an evening shift. This is a key operational role focused on managing the live operation, supporting drivers on the road and ensuring the plan is delivered effectively into the evening.
The Role: You will take ownership of the live transport operation during the afternoon and evening, ensuring all movements across the UK and Ireland run to plan. Working closely with drivers, sub-contractors and customers, you will manage real-time issues, make decisions to keep the operation moving and ensure a smooth transition into the next operational period. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is confident taking control of a busy operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the operation during the shift
- Monitor vehicle and load progress, ensuring service levels are maintained
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and internal teams
- Make decisions in real time to manage delays, issues and changing priorities
- Support drivers throughout their shift, including queries and problem resolution
- Ensure compliance with Tachograph Regulations and Working Time Directive
- Provide a clear and structured handover to the next planning shift
- Assist with KPI reporting and operational performance tracking
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in Transport Planning or a similar operational role
- Good knowledge of UK & Ireland geography
- Strong understanding of live operations and decision-making under pressure
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- CPC qualification is an advantage but not essential
