TST Group is expanding due to new contracts and we are looking for a Nightshift Transport Planner to join our team in Ballymena. The role focuses on keeping the operation steady overnight, dealing with issues as they arise and making sure the dayshift plan runs smoothly. It suits someone who stays calm, makes good decisions and can manage a busy operation through the night.
The Role
- You will monitor and adjust the transport plan across the UK and Ireland, keeping trailers, drivers and sailings on track.
- You will work with the ports, handle any shipping changes, resolve live problems and make sure the dayshift gets a clear handover.
- It is steady, detail-based work that needs strong communication and good judgement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the live plan and adjust when needed.
- Manage bookings and changes with Stena, CLdN, P O and other shipping partners.
- Stay in close contact with drivers and support them through delays or breakdowns.
- Update the TMS with accurate timings, job status and trailer locations.
- Maintain compliance with working time and tacho rules.
- Escalate major issues and complete a clear handover for dayshift.
- Handle any urgent customer queries that come in overnight.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in Transport Planning, Fleet Control or a similar role.
- Good knowledge of UK and Ireland routes and port operations.
- Confidence dealing with shipping lines and understanding cut-offs.
- Calm, steady decision-making and strong situational awareness.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently at night.
- CPC is an advantage but not essential.
