TSSI Recruitment (UK) Ltd are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work in our expanding list of client schools in the Borough of Newham. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to the students, enabling them to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills towards their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with classroom teachers and other support staff to plan and deliver tailored learning activities for students with special needs.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small group support to students with a focus on their individual needs and goals.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional development of students.
- Support students in developing their communication skills, including the use of alternative communication systems.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
- Assist in the assessment and tracking of student progress.
- Promote independence and encourage students to become active participants in their learning.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A Child & Adult workforce Enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to obtain one through TSSI. (cost will be refunded after 10 days work)
- Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or a related field are preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
