Criminal Duty Solicitor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor to join an established and growing legal practice as it expands into Leicestershire.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in developing a local team, while benefiting from the support, expertise and resources of an established wider criminal law department.
The role would suit an ambitious solicitor who is keen to take on greater responsibility and develop their career as the office grows.
The Role
- Managing a varied criminal caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion, including Police Station, Magistrates' Court and Crown Court work.
- Preparing case documentation, proofs of evidence and applications, and instructing counsel where appropriate.
- Supporting and supervising junior colleagues, with the opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills as the team grows.
About You
- Current Duty Solicitor status and Police Station Accreditation.
- Strong experience in criminal defence, with solid advocacy and case management skills.
- Commercially aware, proactive and motivated to contribute to the growth of a new office.
- Ambitious and keen to develop their leadership and management experience.
Previous management or supervisory experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
