Residential Conveyancing Legal Assistant / Paralegal

TSR Legal is currently working with a well-established and friendly law firm that is looking to appoint a Residential Conveyancing Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join its busy property team in Malmesbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous residential conveyancing experience who is looking to join a supportive team and develop their knowledge and career within a positive working environment.
The Role
Working alongside experienced fee earners within the Residential Property team, you will provide a high level of administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process.
The successful candidate will ideally have a good understanding of residential conveyancing and be confident dealing with clients, estate agents, lenders and other legal professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of contracts, leases and other residential property documentation.
- Using case management systems, digital platforms and online portals to manage and progress matters.
- Drafting routine correspondence and preparing standard legal documentation.
- Opening files, preparing initial correspondence and providing clients with quotes.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic case files.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors and other third parties.
- Making and receiving telephone calls and dealing with client enquiries professionally.
- Assisting with appointments and providing support to clients both in person and over the telephone.
- Liaising with the Accounts team regarding money transfers and other financial matters.
- Supporting the completion of risk, compliance and due diligence requirements.
- Preparing completed files for storage and maintaining accurate filing systems.
- Providing general administrative and clerical support to the wider team.
- Providing occasional reception cover during periods of holiday or sickness.
- With appropriate support, taking responsibility for progressing matters in the absence of the relevant fee earner.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and approachable, with a genuine interest in residential conveyancing.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a residential conveyancing environment.
- A good understanding of the conveyancing process and terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good IT skills and confidence using case management systems and online portals.
- The ability to manage your workload and prioritise effectively.
- A professional and friendly approach to client care.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.
Experience as a Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Assistant, Conveyancing Paralegal or Legal Secretary would be considered.
