TSR Legal are pleased to be partnering with a highly regarded, long-standing law firm in Cardiff who are seeking an experienced Head of Conveyancing to establish and lead a new conveyancing department. This is a rare opportunity to shape a team from the ground up within a respected practice that is investing in substantial expansion.
The Role
- As Head of Conveyancing, you will be responsible for building and managing a new department with a strong focus on panel work.
- You will play a strategic role in developing processes, overseeing the delivery of high-quality residential conveyancing services, and ensuring excellent relationships with referrers, lenders, and panel partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and grow a new conveyancing department within the firm.
- Build and manage a panel-focused team, ensuring efficient workflows and high service standards.
- Develop and implement department strategy, compliance frameworks, and best-practice procedures.
- Handle a caseload of residential conveyancing matters as needed, with support from the growing team.
- Maintain and grow existing panel relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to support wider firm initiatives and service integration.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise fee earners and support staff as the department scales.
- Drive performance, continuous improvement, and excellent client experience.
About You
- Experienced conveyancing lawyer (Solicitor, CLC, or equivalent) with a strong background in residential conveyancing.
- Proven track record in panel work—including managing panel relationships, meeting panel requirements, and driving panel-driven business.
- Demonstrable ability to bring new business and maintain strong referral networks.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous experience supervising or managing a team.
- Commercially minded with the ability to lead operational development and support business growth.
- Highly organised, proactive, and confident in building a department from the ground up.
