TSR Legal is delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Chepstow that is looking to recruit a Legal Receptionist / Legal Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and professional individual seeking a varied role that combines front‑of‑house responsibilities with hands‑on legal support work across Conveyancing and Private Client departments.
The Role
- You will act as the first point of contact for clients and visitors while also providing administrative and legal support to fee earners within the Residential Conveyancing and Private Client teams.
- This is a varied and busy role offering exposure to high-quality legal work in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Meeting and greeting clients and visitors professionally
- Managing incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries
- Providing front‑of‑house and reception support to the office
- Assisting fee earners within Conveyancing and Private Client departments
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence, and client care letters
- Supporting with file opening, compliance checks, and file management
- Assisting with conveyancing transactions and private client matters including wills and probate administration
- Managing diaries, appointments, and meeting arrangements
- Maintaining accurate records using the firm’s case management system
- Handling incoming and outgoing post and general office administration
About You
- Previous experience within a legal, professional services, or office environment is desirable
- Experience within conveyancing or private client would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Professional, friendly, and confident manner
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good typing and IT skills including Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
- Positive, team‑focused approach with a willingness to learn
