The Role – Legal Assistant (Conveyancing)
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join a busy and well-regarded Conveyancing team. You\’ll play a key role in providing high-quality support to fee earners and assisting with the smooth progression of property transactions. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, works well under pressure, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing client matters and communications where appropriate
- Typing correspondence, filing, and opening new files
- Ordering searches and obtaining Land Registry documents
- Preparing files for billing
- Answering and screening incoming calls
- Sorting and prioritising incoming mail, emails, and messages
- Preparing straightforward legal documents
- Delivering a friendly, professional, and efficient service to clients
- Ensuring compliance with LEXCEL standards and relevant regulatory requirements
- Understanding the basic elements of the Solicitors Accounts Rules relating to client funds
- Liaising with clients and third parties to support transaction progress
- Providing occasional reception cover when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a legal environment
- Ability to remain calm, polite, and focused when handling varied situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team-working and relationship-building skills
- Solid administrative experience
