Head of Property Location: Bristol Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Opportunity TSR Legal are pleased to be working with a well-established law firm in Bristol that is looking to appoint a Head of Property to lead and develop its property team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property lawyer with strong leadership skills and a commercial mindset to take ownership of a department, support the ongoing development of the team and contribute to the continued growth of the wider property practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the department's day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of client service and building strong relationships with clients, estate agents and other professional contacts.
The Role
Responsibilities will include: Leading, managing and mentoring the Bristol property team, supporting individual development and overall team performance. Overseeing a varied property caseload, with a focus on residential property transactions and maintaining high standards of legal compliance. Providing expert legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring a professional and client-focused service. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, estate agents and other key stakeholders.
Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities to support the growth of the property department. Implementing effective processes and best practices to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. Monitoring departmental financial performance, managing budgets and allocating resources effectively. Keeping up to date with developments in property law and market trends to ensure the department remains competitive and responsive to client needs.
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have: Qualification as a solicitor with significant experience in property law. Previous experience leading or managing a property team or department. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others. A commercial approach to practice development, with experience building client relationships and generating new business.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. The ability to manage complex legal matters while maintaining a high level of client service. A good understanding of the residential and commercial property markets. Experience using case management systems and relevant legal software. What's on Offer?
