This position has become available due to continued growth within the Development Plot Sales Department.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development (Plot Sales) Fee Earner to join the Gloucester office. The successful candidate will handle all aspects of residential development sales on behalf of commercial developer clients, including the day-to-day running of sale files, part exchanges, and site set-ups. You’ll be working alongside a team of around 20 experienced professionals and enjoy exposure to a strong client portfolio, including FTSE 100-listed companies and 5-star HBF-rated builders. While property law experience (residential or commercial) is essential, specific plot sales experience is not required — full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the site set-up of new development sites (training provided).
- Preparing road, sewer, infrastructure, and service agreements, as well as related transfers, leases, or easements.
- Drafting contracts, transfers, and leases for plot sales and part-exchange transactions.
- Responding to enquiries from buyers’ legal representatives.
- Reporting to clients on part-exchange properties.
- Handling exchange and completion of sales and purchases.
- Completing SDLT returns and registrations.
- Meeting billing targets as agreed with the Head of Department.
- Supervising junior team members as required.
- Managing all other legal matters relating to development sites post-acquisition.
About You
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Solicitor (SRA) or FCILEx.
- Applications are encouraged from those who are non qualified who have experience of fee earning.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Strong communication, client care, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work proactively.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Confident with legal IT systems and Microsoft Office.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and adapt to changing business needs.
Desirable Criteria
- Newly Qualified to 2 years PQE.
- Knowledge or prior experience in Property Law.
