TSR Legal is delighted to be working with a well‑established law firm with the backing and resources of a national organisation, in the search for a skilled Legal Secretary to join its Wills & Probate team in Chepstow.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary looking to join a close‑knit and supportive office environment whilst benefiting from the stability, reputation and career opportunities associated with a larger legal group.
Working directly alongside the Head of Department and a Partner, you will play a key role in supporting a busy and highly regarded Private Client practice, assisting with a broad range of wills, probate, estate administration and lasting power of attorney matters.
The Opportunity

You will become an integral member of a small team, providing high‑quality secretarial and administrative support and helping to ensure the smooth progression of client matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated support to the Head of Department and Partner.
- Preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence and reports.
- Audio and copy typing of legal documentation.
- Managing diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements.
- Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions and third parties.
- Assisting with probate and estate administration documentation.
- Preparing wills, powers of attorney and related documents.
- Opening new client files and maintaining case management systems.
- Handling incoming calls, emails and client enquiries professionally.
- Managing filing, document production and general administrative support.
- Supporting fee earners to ensure matters progress efficiently and clients receive excellent service.
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates who have
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Private Client, Wills & Probate or a similar legal discipline.
- Excellent typing and document production skills.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and client care skills.
- Experience managing diaries and supporting senior legal professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- A proactive and professional approach with the ability to work independently.
