TSR Legal is delighted to be working with an established and highly respected law firm that is looking to appoint a Head of Conveyancing to lead and build its residential property offering.

This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious Senior Residential Conveyancer who is looking for more than just another management role.

You’ll have the autonomy, backing and resources to build a department your way, while benefiting from the reputation, infrastructure and financial stability of an established practice.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to build a Residential Conveyancing department within an established and respected law firm that has a loyal client base and an excellent reputation across the region.

Whilst the firm has historically undertaken residential conveyancing work, it has not actively serviced this area for some time and, as a result, has turned away instructions.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in re-establishing and growing the department.

The ideal individual will be commercially minded and enjoy business development.

Whether you already have a following of clients and introducers or are confident in your ability to build new relationships with estate agents, brokers and other referrers, you’ll have the autonomy and support to develop the department as you see fit.

Initially, you’ll operate as a standalone Head of Conveyancing, giving you complete ownership of the department.

As the workload grows, you’ll have full responsibility for recruiting your own team, implementing processes, and shaping the culture and direction of the department.

This is an opportunity to create something of your own, backed by the security, infrastructure and reputation of an established law firm.

If you’ve ever considered setting up your own conveyancing practice but were put off by the financial and operational risks, this offers many of the same rewards with the support of an existing business behind you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the firm’s Residential Conveyancing department.
  • Manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions.
  • Deliver an outstanding service to clients and introducers.
  • Develop and implement systems, processes and best practices.
  • Drive business growth and identify opportunities to expand the department.
  • Recruit, mentor and lead the conveyancing team as the department grows.
  • Work closely with the firm’s leadership team to shape the future of the property offering.
  • Build relationships with estate agents, brokers and other professional referrers.

About You

Applications are welcomed from experienced

  • Solicitors
  • Licensed Conveyancers
  • Chartered Legal Executives

Ideally, you’ll have significant experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload together with previous supervisory or leadership experience, although ambitious senior conveyancers ready to take the next step are also encouraged to apply.

You’ll be

  • Commercially minded and entrepreneurial.
  • Passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • A natural leader who enjoys developing people and building successful teams.
  • Confident making decisions and driving change.
  • Looking for a role where your ideas will be heard and implemented.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • The chance to build and lead your own conveyancing department.
  • Complete autonomy to shape the team’s structure, processes and culture.
  • Existing workflow ready to be serviced from day one.
  • Freedom to recruit and grow the team as demand increases.
  • Backing of an established, reputable law firm with a strong brand.
  • Genuine long-term career opportunity with significant influence over the future of the business.
