TSR Legal is delighted to be working with a highly regarded law firm that is looking to recruit an experienced Legal Support Assistant (LSA) to join its Tax, Trusts and Succession team in Cheltenham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Support Assistant to provide proactive, high-quality support to lawyers within the Private Client group, specifically the Tax, Trusts and Succession team. You will play a key role in supporting fee earners, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring the smooth running of legal and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting lawyers with the billing process, including drafting narratives and covering letters
- Managing credit control, ensuring timely billing and liaising with departmental administrators to keep systems and processes up to date
- Acting as a central point of contact for clients and third parties by phone and email
- Collating information for client updates and reports as required
- Liaising with internal support teams to resolve issues on behalf of lawyers, taking ownership and following up as needed
- Arranging and actively participating in regular legal team meetings
- Organising client events and seminars in conjunction with the Marketing team, attending where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with lawyers and clients, developing a sound understanding of client needs and business activities
You will be part of a wider Professional Support Services team, which includes Legal Support Assistants, Management Support Assistants and Department and Office Administrators, each aligned to specific legal groups to develop specialist knowledge. The team supports lawyers across diary management, drafting correspondence, financial management of matters, compliance processes and client engagement initiatives, including events and bids. Strong working relationships and close collaboration are central to how the team operates.

About YouThe successful candidate will share the firm's values and thrive in a collaborative, client-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Recent experience as a Legal Support Assistant, PA or Secretary within a Tax, Trusts and Succession or Private Client team
- Strong diary management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
- Experience working with financial processes
- Experience working to compliance and file maintenance procedures
- Fast and accurate typing skills
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- A commercial, proactive and professional approach
- Confident and professional telephone manner
- Self-motivation, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to delivering high levels of client service
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
- Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player
- A strong understanding of confidentiality and discretion
