Due to continued growth, there is a brand new opportunity for a skilled and highly organised Operations Manager to lead and support the firm's busy Property Department. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department, driving efficiency, maintaining regulatory compliance, and contributing to the firm's wider strategic objectives.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will work closely with Partners, Solicitors, and support teams to oversee the operational performance of the Property Department. You will be responsible for managing workflows, supporting staff development, ensuring compliance standards are met, and implementing processes that enhance productivity and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Property Department, ensuring matters progress efficiently and effectively.
  • Lead, motivate, and support departmental staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Monitor team workloads, resource allocation, and performance against departmental objectives.
  • Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal, and internal firm requirements.
  • Conduct regular file reviews, audits, and quality assurance checks.
  • Produce and analyse management information, departmental reports, and key performance indicators.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development within the team.
  • Manage departmental budgets and contribute to financial performance monitoring.
  • Work closely with senior management to support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational issues, resolving challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Promote excellent client care standards and support the firm's reputation for outstanding service.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in an operational management role within a legal, professional services, or property-related environment.
  • Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial property law processes.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience of compliance management, quality assurance, and risk management procedures.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and experience analysing performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Previous experience managing operations within a conveyancing or property law department.
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requirements and legal compliance frameworks.
  • Experience implementing process improvement initiatives and change management programmes.
